October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is an annual campaign to
increase awareness of the disease. While this month is used as a way to
focus on Breast Cancer Awareness, many of our franchisees across the network
have partnered with organizations to help support patients with free cleaning.
The Plano Frisco, TX office is one of a handful of offices who partner
with Cleaning for a Reason to provide free cleaning services to female
cancer patients. Owners Susan and Allen Thrift have been doing these cleanings
since July.
Recently, the owners were featured in the
Community Impact Newspaper: Plano Edition. Susan told the paper, “I think it’s fantastic. My nephew
had cancer and was diagnosed when he was 4 [years old] and died when he
was 9 [years old]… I watched what my sister went through caring
for him and cleaning the house was her last priority.”
In Troy, MI, the office has been working with the Gilda’s Club of
Metro Detroit for more than two years. The Gilda’s Club provides
a place where those living with cancer, their families, and friends can
join with others to build emotional and social support as a supplement
to medical care. The Cleaning Authority of Troy’s owner Tim Bridges
sends a crew to the Gilda’s Club twice a week.
Tim told the
Troy Patch of Gilda’s Club in a recent news article that he believed they were
doing good for the community by offering the cleaning services they needed.
In addition to offering free cleans to support patients, offices of The
Cleaning Authority are also working to raise awareness of Breast Cancer.
The staff in the Plainfield, IL office showed their support by wearing
their “Go Pink” t-shirts.
We want to thank all of our offices who work to support Breast Cancer patients
and raise awareness of the disease.
