Meet our Franchisee: Michael Hurd

With his experience in finance, mortgage, real estate, and business investment careers, Michael Hurd is ready to take on his next career as a franchise owner. Several years back, Michael began to purchase a cleaning company but backed out last minute. “I’ve been kicking myself ever since,” he said.

Now Michael is more prepared than ever to take on his first service business in Salt Lake City, Utah. He loves the longevity of the service industry and being able to employ people who need jobs. After searching for the perfect business, Michael found the cleaning industry. “When it came to a cleaning company, I liked the numbers. I liked the model of cleaning homes. Then jumping to The Cleaning Authority, I really like this model,” Michael said. “The model and really the whole process sold me on the franchise and I think it’s a great fit.”

The Cleaning Authority was especially intriguing to Michael due to its valuable Detail-Clean Rotation System, the great amount of support and training, and its tracking and measuring systems. Michael also noticed a great difference in his experience with The Cleaning Authority as a franchisor versus a friend of his whom recently opened a franchise of another business in the area. “Watching him go through the process, it was like night and day,” he said. “The Cleaning Authority was more streamlined and provided much more support.”

In Michael’s mind, there are many zip codes that have been untouched by The Cleaning Authority in his area. “I think that gives plenty of opportunity for growth and market share,” he said. His market in Salt Lake City serves as the perfect place for Michael to grow his own franchise within the local population and provide jobs for the community.
