Meet our Franchisee: Joe Karakunnel

After spending his career in the corporate world, Joe Karakunnel decided it was time to make a change. Joe, who has a Masters in Computer Engineering from the University of Central Florida, has worked in various positions in the IT space ranging from programming to testing and deployment to software professional services and sales.

For the last year and a half to two years now, I've been wanting to get out of the corporate world,” he said. “I was searching for something that I really wanted to do for the rest of my career. I've been wanting to own a business for a while and looked at different opportunities.”

Joe was drawn to franchising because he liked having the model in place rather than needing to start from scratch with his business. “The Cleaning Authority, specifically, had a very good model and system when it came to this kind of business,” he said. The marketing and software were also aspects of The Cleaning Authority that excited Joe.

He is purchasing the office in the Boca Raton, Florida area, and is looking forward to the potential that comes along with it. “It’s one of the more affluent areas in south Florida and there's a lot of potential that hasn't been tapped into yet,” he said. “The office I’m buying already has a good number of customers, but I feel it can definitely do much better.”

Joe is looking forward to the change of pace that business ownership will bring and the freedom he did not have when working in the corporate world.
